Re: Dunkirk Awards Season Discussion Thread

Nolan on Tapley's podcast: http://variety.com/2018/film/in-contention/playback-podcast-christopher-nolan-dunkirk-1202698342/ Wow, listening to him talk about his reluctance to use Dolby Atmos actually fucked my head with how beautifully he explains it (starts around 27 minutes for those interested).

Re: Dunkirk Awards Season Discussion Thread

Unfortunately, it seems to be The Shape of Water's to lose. It's not even del Toro's best film, though to be up front I'm not really a fan of his work. I respect him as a filmmaker and his love for the craft, but have little interest in the worlds he creates. It's just a shame to think a movie as be...

Re: Dunkirk General Information/Discussion

While Nolan doesn’t use research companies...
Best line from that article. Also:
Next up?
While Nolan has projects in his trunk, he has “no idea.”
LIES.

Re: Dunkirk Awards Season Discussion Thread

Just watched The Shape of Water. I mean, it was ok, but... c'mon, that shouldn't even hold a candle to Dunkirk. It's not even up there with Lady Bird or Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri. At least those I found enjoyable and could understand them winning. Hell, I'd even be ok with something ...

Re: Dunkirk Awards Season Discussion Thread

Like I said, Dunkirk will get nominated for a bunch and win next to nothing. The Academy focuses on screenplay over everything else. BP winner of past 5 years (9 out of the past 10 years) have won screenplay noms and many of them won nothing else but that. A film can have best actor, best director,...

Re: Dunkirk General Information/Discussion

The Martian is PG-13 and got away with two audible F-bombs, in addition to a couple instances of mouthing the word and showing it typed out with dashes in place of letters.

Re: DVD/Blu-ray Release

Also, to anyone wanting the Nolan 4K Collection, the set is actually hideous. Especially compared to the original Nolan Collection on Blu-Ray (which is what I have). Mine finally shipped, so I'll see just how hideous it is tomorrow. Something tells me I'm going to be eventually buying all the indiv...

Re: DVD/Blu-ray Release

I went to Bust Buy and got a steelbook and my grandmother got a normal copy. They had plenty in stock? Are you talking about the individual release of Dunkirk? I'm talking about the whole Nolan 4K collection. NOBODY has it - at least not online. Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart... nothing. Amazon gave me ...
