Re: Dunkirk Awards Season Discussion Thread

Didn't Nolan have a great reception at the luncheon? Anyway, imagine the uproar if Dunkirk won BP after that trailblazer motage for equality? If that wasn't an obvious message... And come on, GDT's win was on lock considering he sweeped all the other awards.

No surprise. You have a link to the interview?
Really great interview. Would like to know who he said was his favorite writer, I didn't manage to catch it.

Re: Phantom Thread (2017)

I enjoyed this film, but the lack of backstory regarding Alma's character slightly bothered me. I didn't know her at all, what was her motivation for staying with DDL's real insufferable Reynolds?

Re: Dunkirk Awards Season Discussion Thread

What makes you say that? Her reply to that first tweet I posted: https://twitter.com/ava/status/961866053381836805 It's not a big deal obviously, it just kind of caught me off guard. I guess she still thinks that Dunkirk it's not enough representative and inclusive. If she calls him racist or somet...

Re: Dunkirk Awards Season Discussion Thread

Is Zimmer on tour? Don't think I saw him at the luncheon. Anyway, really love the interactions between the Nolans and Rockwell, also with Gary.

Re: Dunkirk Awards Season Discussion Thread

Peele and Gerwig are first timers. Mcdonagh simply doesn't have the prestige to win BD, confirmed by his lack of an Oscar nom. Was slightly scared they would sacrifice Nolan for his spot. PTA's name came late into the awards game so his chances are very slim. And well everyone is just tired of Spiel...

Re: Untitled Tarantino Manson Murders Project (2019)

There's no excusing Quentin's bullying behavior, but honestly politicizing this story as part of the #MeToo movement is patently absurd. Directors (probably unethically) push and/or bully their stars into dangerous stunts often. So many stunt men and women die every single year, sometimes doing stu...
