It's a nice idea but if you really think about it, it just doesn't add up. The Tesla Machine that Borden used on stage was just for show, it didn't actually do anything. When Angier confronted Alley, he admitted that Tesla never built the type of machine for Borden that Angier was looking for. Also...

Me too!!! I love Heat! And I recall seeing an interview where Christopher Nolan said that casting him as a mob bank manager was an homage to Heat.

That's so awesome! Honestly I hope that the diary is published, it would be really cool to read about what Heath's thoughts and feelings were about the character. And also just great insight into the mind of a terrific actor.

Sorry if I'm repeating someone's question but has anyone brought up the idea that the 2nd Borden is a clone? Remember, Borden had Tesla make a machine just like Angiers'. I'm on the side of the surviving Borden. I felt like he was the one who suffered the most throughout the film. He lost his fingers, his career, the love of his life, his brother, and he almost lost his daughter. I really felt for him after the first time I watched the film.
