They certainly could've replaced a scene with Juno Temple's character with that shot. Her character was absolutely pointless.

I thought the ending confirmed that Blake would be Robin if they continued the story. It's possible that Blake becomes Batman, but I think they would want someone else to be Batman. Yeah, I didn't like his voice in the prologue. But it was pretty good for the rest of the film.
