Re: What are the accepted plotholes in Inception?

I know some people are saying the snow level is Eames' dream, but that makes no sense to me. The whole point of going into the 3rd level was so that Fischer's subconscious could perform inception on himself. And if it was Eames' dream, there i no reason why his own projections would continually att...

Re: Cobb's Inception - what is the simplest form of the idea

The first "seed" planted was by Saito, who asks if Cobb wants to die an old man full of regrets in combination with "leap of faith." These are recurring themes in the movie.

Re: Is the entire movie a dream?

The ring can be just as much a red herring as Cobb's top. It makes you focus on a simplified easter egg vs. deliberating the big picture. When you're resting your case by pointing to one detail in this movie and saying "that's it ... that's the smoking gun! ... case closed" ... doesn't this ring ala...

Re: Is the entire movie a dream?

It's only "not exciting" if you don't think about it at all. It seems to me that the movie forces you to question its reality if you're paying any attention to it (if not, all you're likely to get from the movie is huh? wha?). The fact that you have to look quite closely and examine the movie caref...

Re: No regrets

It reinforces the theory that the whole movie was an inception on Cobb :)

Re: Is the entire movie a dream?

I agree reality is simplest solution IF you can accept all the plotholes. I'm just saying it's the least exciting of the possibilities. If the whole thing is taken at face value, it's a very linear (save for the opening scene) action plot, and most of the intellectual exercise involves niggling over...

Re: Is the entire movie a dream?

If the "whole movie was someone's inception on Cobb" then you're assuming that there's a real Cobb. Why is an inception necessary? Is Mal real? Is her suicide real? Are their kids? How about the shared dreaming technology? Is it Cobb performing an inception on himself or is it someone from external...

Re: What are the accepted plotholes in Inception?

But that leads me to another question: If it is Fischer's dream and he dies and drops to limbo, wouldn't that force a kick back up to the second level for the remaining 4 people in the dream since the dream doesn't exist anymore? Or would it drop them into limbo with Fischer too? Beats me. It's one...
