Re: For Those Who Have Questions
I'd like to challenge the Mal/Ariadne theory. If it was Mal who wants to rescue Cobb from his limbo via all these elaborate and complicated plans, how come Mal repeatedly asks Cobb to stay with her in limbo? If the theory was true, wouldn't Mal just tell Cobb that he's still dreaming and should kil...

Re: For Those Who Have Questions
It seems everybody is misunderstanding the kicks. The kick goes into effect not when you're falling but when you hit the ground. The van kick went into effect when they hit the water and Dom's kick goes into effect when he hit the water in the beginning. As others have pointed out, a kick is the fe...

Re: For Those Who Have Questions
First of all, this is the best thread created so far. I think a lot of people have really great theories--- and of course there is no way to actually prove what is "right" or "wrong." It's all about the choices we make in understanding it. I just have a main question... I think for Fang. I think it...

Re: Interpretation Of The Ending
The key to waking out of Limbo is realizing that you are in a fake world and you want to get out. That was the whole point of Cobb using Inception on his wife otherwise he would have just killed her and woken her up. Good catch. I always wondered why Cobbs didn't just shoot Mal. However which is th...

Re: Interpretation Of The Ending
The train set them both in to limbo. Mal realized they were in limbo still and killed herself to get out hoping Cobb would do the same. Mal is Ari using her father M. Caine (the best extractor Cobb stated) to set the stage for inception in Cobb's mind as he no longer trusted Mal. The only way to get...

Re: For Those Who Have Questions
I also have a weird take but I think it works on most levels (no pun intended). I think the movie is about Mal trying to save Cobb out of limbo. She created this whole dream. Here is the kicker. Mal is Ariadne. Cobb and Mal were both in limbo and she was trying to get him out. And she failed. Hence...

Re: Pretty sure Cobb's dreaming
So I am pretty sure Cobb was dreaming the whole time and I think maybe Mal made it out when she killed herself. Even if she didn't I think the team was in there to get Cobb out. Thankyou I was starting to think I was out on my own on that one. The ending switches your perspective on the Mal story. ...

Re: Top vs. Ring: Theories About the End
So there’s a lot of debate about the ending and I wanted to throw in my observation and opinion. I have arrived at two possible theories to describe the ending of the film. I will look at the functionality and meaning of the totem and wedding ring. THE TOTEM -- THE TOP [Who handles the ‘top’ totem?...

Re: For Those Who Have Questions
Regarding the totem. I think anyone can use the totem but only the true user of a particular totem would know it's uniqueness. When Arthur was explaining about the totem to Ariadne, it would be kinda useless to Ariadne because she doesn't know the exact weight and feel of the totem like Arthur does...
