Re: HBO's Chernobyl

reminds of this track from the ending of The Terror somehow

footage obviously isn't from the show but is kind of weirdly fitting for both The Terror and Chernobyl

Re: HBO's Chernobyl

It's amazing, very similar in many ways, very atmospheric, etc etc. Basically Alien and Master and commander in one show. Harris and the guy who plays Ignatenko are at their top there, Menzies and king of wildlings guy too.

Re: HBO's Game of Thrones

I didn't have a problem with the twist. It was part of the course for the character and I actually enjoyed that part of the episode. However, I did have a problem with the structure of the episode: I think the screen-time proportions of the battle for KL and the destruction of KL should have been s...

Re: HBO's Game of Thrones

What did everyone think of Cleganebowl ? Initially I was slightly underwhelmed then I realized it was great. I'm still not satisfied with the fight itself, possibly due to lacking Hound-perspective in recent times, though I like how they went into the encounter. Ultimately though it devolved quickl...

because the most terrifying and exciting things have already happened in the first one
nope

Anyway, I think it's pretty amazing, pretty much The Terror S2 (can't wait for the actual S2 tho). Especially if you're from my corner of Europe you'll find it that much more haunting.

Re: HBO's Game of Thrones

David Benioff was the main writer of X-Men Origins: Wolverine, the worst X-Men related movie. He's just returning to his roots of nonsense since the show's been going downhill in a blaze since they ran out of book material. mm yeah, blame Benioff who wrote the first draft possibly as early as 2004,...

Re: HBO's Game of Thrones

I've just seen this interesting thread on twitter that deals with the plot/story thing you discuss, and compares D&D's and GRRM's approach to writing: https://twitter.com/DSilvermint/status/1125856091261136896 yes Martin himself has said that back in 2011 he was still very (unrealistically) optimis...
