Re: Box Office

Previews are excellent, better than expected. Nice to see such diverse demographic. Didn't expect 31% of people to be under 25. That's pretty unusual for a war movie like this.

Re: Box Office

Looks good. I'm curious about demographics. Men, women, older people or younger people? My screening was a bit of a mixed bag. Mid 20's and up. Men & women. One thing that surprised me was the amount of older gentleman. 70's and up Mine was mixed, too. Quite a bit of young people and 30+s, young co...

Re: Harry Styles joins the cast of 'Dunkirk'

Harry really did an amazing job with what he had imo. The guy made me sort of hate him and then feel sorry for him and the "transition" was pretty stark  I have to say though. One girl did hysterically clap when she saw him on screen lol. And she used her phone quite a bit. Not that big of dea...

Re: Box Office

You don't really need to hate the movie for a poor WOM to happen. If people are kind of "meh" after watching the movie, it will hurt its box office, too. You don't even need poor WOM to end up with poor legs at the box office. Captain America Civil War had absolutely terrible legs after rave review...

Re: Box Office

Just got back from seeing the film this evening. I think word of mouth will be very divisive, which means pretty poor legs compared to the likes of Inception or Interstellar. . Some will think it's brilliant and others will hate the hell out of it. I'm also shocked WB allowed Nolan to do this proje...

Re: Harry Styles joins the cast of 'Dunkirk'

Yeah, in my second viewing, I caught a ton of instances of close-ups of Mr. Styles. Agreed. I have seen a lot of close-ups. The one I can't get out of my head is the close-up of his face on the train when he says that the man couldn't even look them in the eye (?). That look in his eyes was just a ...

Re: Predict the MVP of the cast

I expected Hardy to be the MVP, but after watching the movie, I don't think Hardy is the MVP . I wasn't particularly impressed with Hardy’s acting, because most of the time it was impossible to even see his expression. He was anonymous for most of the movie. The role is cool at the end, but to be ho...

Re: Harry Styles joins the cast of 'Dunkirk'

“What I was looking for in the character of Alex, and haven’t been able to find despite looking at thousands of young men, I saw in Harry right away.” - Chris Nolan Love reading this as I recall all the negative comments on IMDB about Harry's involvement being credited only to his celebrity status....

Re: Box Office

I'm not very optimistic. I think it will do very very well in the UK for obvious reasons, but I'm not sure how much a neutral audience would care about a war movie about another country, without typical romantic leads or personal story. I'm currently on a work trip in Kazakhstan. I watched the movie...
