Re: Why is Insomnia considered Nolan's weakest film when...

I just watched it recently, having seen it years ago. It was much better than I remembered. Pretty tight writing from beginning to end, with sustained suspense and setup/payoffs. Though this Seven-ish genre movie isn't my favorite, I definitely see the intelligence of an uncredited Nolan rewrite; se...

Re: Christopher Nolan Interviews - The Treatment, NPR

It's disappointing this interview is close to getting as many dislikes as likes. I don't understand the unfair trashing this film and anyone who appreciates Christopher Nolan's skills as a storyteller gets on youtube sometimes. Can I call on any Nolan Fans to boost the likes and positive comments on...

Christopher Nolan Interviews - The Treatment, NPR

Another video I posted of Interstellar interviews with Christopher Nolan (audio with movie images). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CEbu8-3gwVY The Treatment with Elvis Mitchell, and NPR's All Things Considered. Among many topics, he discusses filmmaking, story, his minimal use of CGI, and his love ...

Re: Rank all of Nolan's films

It always bothers me when something is ranked Best or given a number in a list, when several choices have equal worth (why I don't watch the Oscars). My top 5 in terms of quality and overall enjoyment, in no particular order: Batman Begins, Memento, Inception, Interstellar, and a tie between The Pre...

Re: Interstellar General Film Discussion Thread

I'm glad I only saw the teaser for this movie before I went. Reviewers who said the ending was predictable 10 minutes in seemed to have watched all the trailers. This was definitely a good one to go in fresh, trailers always show too much. I haven't seen a movie in a long time that stuck with me as ...

Re: Nolan's Best Film?

Not his best for me but I love that Nikola Tesla is in it, and played by David Bowie, that is pure genius. Also that it sort of pits Wolverine against Batman, and Scarlett Johansson in a movie is purely a good thing.

That is an awesome story.

Re: How many times have you seen Interstellar?

Just once, I have to see it again on the big screen.

I wouldn't recommend IMAX though, the dialogue was hard to hear over the music and sound fx (which I read was a problem for IMAX theaters mostly). It actually hurt my ears for a day or two after, way too loud.
