goldenglobes Inception Gets 4 Golden Globe Nominations

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced the nominees for the 68th Golden Globe Awards this morning, which included 4 nominations for Inception. Nominated for Best Motion Picture – Drama, Best Director, Best Screenplay, and Best Original Score; Inception is tied with Darren Aronofsky’s Black Swan in amount of nominations, and behind The Social Network and The Fighter, which have 6 nominations each, and The King’s Speech‘s 7 total nominations. To a little surprise there are no acting nominations for Inception, but to be honest, the winners for those categories are practically a lock. Our buddies over at the Hero Complex twitter say that Christopher is excited about the nominations, although under the weather at the moment and currently scouting for locations in Asia for The Dark Knight Rises. Seems like Christopher is keeping focused the future.

Congratulations to Christopher Nolan and team on the nominations. We (obviously) are pulling for you! The 68th Annual Golden Globe Awards will be aired live on NBC Sunday January 16, 2011 at 8pm EST/5pm PST.

Inception app red Inception Augmented Reality iOS App Released

Last month, we got word that Reality Jockey was working with director Christopher Nolan and composer Hans Zimmer on a new “augmented sound project” based on the original score of Inception. This morning, “Inception – The App” made its way onto the App Store.

This app is a dream machine that transforms the world around you into a dreamworld. It uses augmented sound to induce dreams through the headset of your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch. It will change your perception of reality.

Inception The App transports Inception The Movie straight into your life. New dreams can be unlocked in many ways, for example by walking, being in a quiet room, while traveling, or when the sun shines. You will get realtime musical experiences, featuring new and exclusive music from the Inception soundtrack composed by Hans Zimmer. This app is the first result of Christopher Nolan, Hans Zimmer, and Michael Breidenbrückers’ collaboration using augmented sound.

I’ve been playing with this app for a few minutes and I’m already completely blown away. It seems there are 13 different dream levels and I’ve already unlocked a few of them. In the full story, we have descriptions of the dreams that are available now. The rest will become available to unlock following updates to the app. So, if you have an iPhone, iPad, or an iPod Touch, and you’ve actually read down this far without stoping to hit the App Store, go download this app right now. “Inception – The App” is free on iTunes.

[UPDATE (Dec. 9)]: Hit the full story to see a video of Hans Zimmer discussing the iPhone app.

interview new Interview Round Up: Inception, Batman, and Superman

Christopher Nolan and gang have been making the rounds lately, doing various interviews and press in preparation for the DVD/Blu-ray release of their blockbuster film, Inception. A lot of the focus has been on the much discussed film of summer, which is gaining a lot of buzz here in Awards season, but there have also been inevitable queries into the upcoming projects lined up for Chris and team, including The Dark Knight Rises and the next Superman.

To start it all off, Christopher recently spoke to Wired at length about Inception and the difficulties and ambiguities of such an ambitious project. The folks at Wired really poked and prodded, trying to get Chris to reveal what the ending of the movie really means; what actually happened. But to not much surprise, Chris declined to give such specific answers. “I don’t think I can talk about that,” he laughed. “The ambiguity is very much a part of the substance of the film—I’ll put it that way. The film does not specify one way or the other.”

Alternate Inception Poster Revealed via SnapTag

Posted on Wednesday, November 24th, 2010 at 3:59 pm by AlexHaas

A brand new, unused, alternate Inception poster was just revealed via SnapTag, the messaging service that’s been releasing little behind the scenes tidbits of Christopher Nolan’s lastest blockbuster.

The SnapTag fun began on November 15th, and has since released a quick clip of DiCaprio’s bathtub kick and an audio clip of Ellen Page screaming “wake me up!” This poster, though, is by far the greatest of the SnapTag goodies.

To get in on the SnapTag fun, check out The Inception SnapTag website for more details. Sign up to receive the next batch of treats via MMS or email by taking a picture of this Inception top and text it to 528491 95871 or send it to inception@snaptag.mobi.
