The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences recently held a screening of the 4K remaster of Michael Mann’s spectacular 1995 film Heat. After the screening there was a panel of cast and crew members moderated by none other than Christopher Nolan himself. Heat was famously a big influence on Christopher Nolan, which shows strongly in his work on The Dark Knight. Nolan touted Heat as an “incredible” crime movie that “transcends genre.” Approximentally 30 minutes of the panel, which includes Michael Mann, Robert De Niro, and Al Pacino (whom Nolan worked with on Insomnia) can be found on The Academy‘s YouTube channel.
