interstallar dist Interstellar Release Date Set for November 7, 2014

In a press release (via Deadline) this morning, Paramount Pictures Chairman Brad Grey and Warner Bros. President Jeff Robinov announced that they will be releasing Christopher Nolan’s next film, Interstellar, next year on November 7th. The heroic science-actual voyage will actually be joint distributed by two studios; Paramount will handle domestic distribution, while Warner Bros. will handle international. And, of course, the film will be released in IMAX.

“As a filmmaker and storyteller, Chris has continuously entertained the world with his extraordinary and unparalleled talents. I am pleased beyond measure to welcome him to the Paramount Pictures family. Partnering with Chris, Emma, Lynda and Warner Bros. to release this original idea next November is the perfect way to start the Thanksgiving and holiday movie season for audiences around the world.”
- Brad Grey

“Christopher Nolan is truly one of the great auteurs working in film today, and we’re extremely proud of our successful and ongoing collaboration with him and Emma Thomas.  We are excited to be teaming with Paramount, and look forward to working with the Nolans, and producer Lynda Obst, on this extraordinary new project.”
- Jeff Robinov

Interstellar originated from the ideas of theoretical physicist, gravitational physicist and astrophysicist Kip Thorne, and was once the interest of Steven Spielberg. The script was first written by the highly talented Jonathan Nolan, and is now getting new ideas added by Christopher Nolan himself. Interstellar will voyage into theaters and IMAX on November 7, 2014. Stick tuned for more updates as they come.

Chris writing and directing is great news. For a while there I was getting worried it’ll get pushed to 2015.

With Interstellar being released next year, Chris Nolan is pulled out of the next director consideration for Bond 24

That’s cool with me. Much rather see him do this than a Bond film. On twitter a couple days ago though, I did suggest perhaps Jonah Nolan doing a Bond film. He’s got the writing chops, and the episode he directed on Person of Interested garnered great reviews.

Already looking forward to it. I know where I will be on November 7th next year

I was kinda somewhat expecting that as well. But November is quite the Oscar- contender release period…

Really excited about this. Nolan always attracts great actors, so I’m interested to see who he casts in the lead. JGL has to be one of the frontrunners, along with Tom Hardy, but I wouldn’t mind seeing Hugh Jackman or DiCaprio again. Given his partiality to British actors, maybe even Daniel Craig? Who do you guys want to see?

I would love to see Hugh Jackman work with Nolan again. Russell Crowe would be amazing too, though I have no idea what type of roles the script calls for.

  • KrazzyDJ

Sweet. Although that means shooting has to begin this year and we’ll see a trailer early spring next year !!!

This means 2015 Oscars are going to be a joke again :)

  • Thomas

JGL, Tom Hardy, and Russell Crowe would be great but if you add Jim Caviezel to the mix this cast would be AMAZING!
