The viral marketing campaign for The Dark Knight Rises resurrected itself via the official website early this morning. On the website, a series of scanned documents from a police report on the anonymous vigilante known as the Batman seem to be leading fans on a hunt to find evidence of him. A list of previous “Batman sighting” locations have been listed on the website, which asks for citizens take photographic evidence at those locations and submit them via twitter using the hashtag #tdkr70202012 or by emailing [email protected].

At the end of police report, the site directs you to another website, tdkr07202012.com, which hints at our reward for sending in photographic evidence: frames/images from the upcoming trailer. And so the hunt begins! A new trailer awaits us with The Avengers on May 4th, and surely another poster is lurking in the shadows. The adventure until then seems like it just got a whole lot more interesting.
