There is no stopping the onslaught of filming happening on The Dark Knight Rises, which is still shooting in Pittsburgh. Fortunately and unfortunately for us that means an onslaught of photos and videos from the filming locations have been sprouting all over the internet. For those fans clawing at every scrap of information, there certainly has been enough leaks online to keep to stay happy, at least by Christopher Nolan standards. For those who are trying to turning a blind-eye to wealth of media being uploaded to Twitter and YouTube, well… it has been difficult.

The most recent (and exciting) news to pop up about filming has been the apparent surfacing of Batman’s new means of transport for The Dark Knight Rises: the Batwing. Over the past day or two, photos and video of a strange, Tumbler-esque type vehicle on a hydraulic rig have been taken by fans on the streets in Pittsburgh. On our Podcast we voiced concerns over the possibility of a Batwing because of the practical limitations of developing such a vehicle, but it seems that the visual effects, stunts, and various art departments have figured out a way to get it done. Twitter and YouTube users @markaduffy and subaruwrxfan posted a number videos of the Batwing being filmed by IMAX cameras around Pittsburgh. It appears to have the low-speed capabilities of a helicopter, but with the bite and style of a fighter jet. Check out videos below.

This past week of filming in Pittsburgh has also gotten us our first good look at Joseph Gordon-Levitt as John Blake in The Dark Knight Rises. A slew of photos of the actor on the snowy set locations are appearing all over the internet. Subaruwrxfan also grabbed some footage of the popular Inception star chilling on set. Check that out below as well.

Lastly, Batman-on-Film.com is reporting that The Dark Knight Rises will be filming on the Queensboro Bridge in New York City later this year. We heard a couple months ago that filming at the New York Stock Exchang, and across the river in Newark, New Jersey, will likely be happening as well. There is no word what is being planned at the Queensboro Bridge, but rumors are that it is being used for a big action scene. Until then, stick tuned to NolanFans.com for all of the latest important updates. Thanks to MMatt in the forums for the logo banner image.

Awesome! I just added this to our gallery. We can give you a credit in the article if you’d like.
Can you email the photos you took to nolanfans@gmail.com? :)

I will as I am able, trying to juggle work, and set work on top of school sets, but I’d love to shoot you guys over stuff

All this daytime shooting is interesting. We’ve always seen cinematic Batman operate at night. I’m positive Wally Pfister wouldn’t use Day for Night Lenses, so I’m curious as to why. Could Bane be coming out during the day to draw him out or to try to wreak havoc when he thinks Batman won’t come out during the day? Very interesting.

It certainly is interesting. This movie is going to be very different from the first two.

I wasn’t going to watch the videos… but I broke down.

I’ve heard some people complain that it’s ugly, but I like it.  It looks practical, and is in line with what we’ve seen of Nolan’s Batman tech from previous films.

Also, I’ve heard it claimed that it’s the Bat-copter, and they will be adding the propellers in post.

Either way, it looks pretty badass.

Got pretty much the full scoop on the story today on set, at least as far as everything shot up to date. Won’t spoil it for anyone in this post though
