Production Update #7: Bane & The Tumbler Unleashed

Bane on the Dark Knight Rises set

The Dark Knight Rises celebrated its arrival in Pittsburgh by filming a major scene on only their second day in town. In action on set earlier today was Tom Hardy, in his full Bane costume, and a couple Tumblers too! That’s right! We thought maybe it would stay secret for a little while longer, but now the cat is out of that bag; a number of Tumblers were spotted on set. A handful of photos and some really dope YouTube videos have surfaced from today, but the contents of said media are kinda spoilery. If you wish to stay squeaky clean, read no more.

Just Jared posted a number of photos from the set, which depict Bane standing on top of a camouflaged Tumbler. He’s wearing his mask, as seen in the first photo reveal from back in May, as well as a military vest, cargo pants, and a thick leather trench coat. This uniform seems to mesh well with the seemingly winter like weather that is said to be arriving in Gotham for this film. YouTube user Subaruwrxfan has also posted a number of videos from all the action going down in Pittsburgh today. He managed to grab video of the Tumblers driving around town, in addition to footage of Tom Hardy standing on top of one of them. Oh yeah, I said them. There are at least three, and they seem to vary in design slightly. Subaruwrxfan says he has more videos coming, so subscribe to his channel, if you dare, to stay on top of the action. View all there is to see below.

Filming in Pittsburgh will last another couple of weeks before production moves to Los Angeles in late August. Stick tuned for more awesome updates in the meantime. Oh! And Happy Birthday to Christopher Nolan, who is celebrating is 41st birthday today!
