Inception Receives PGA and WGA Nominations

The two guilds announcing awards today, the Producers Guild of America and the Writers Guild of America, have each nominated Christopher Nolan’s Inception for their top prize. Inception is among ten nominees for the PGA’s Outstanding Producer of Theatrical Motion Pictures and five nominees for the WGA’s Original Screenplay award, bolstering the likelihood it’ll nab similar Best Picture and Best Original Screenplay nominations for the 2011 Academy Awards. It is worth noting, however, that strong contenders for Original Screenplay Oscar (including The King’s Speech, Another Year, and Blue Valentine) were ineligible for the WGA’s Original Screenplay award this year.
