Memento 10th Anniversary Blu-Ray Available for Pre-Order

Ten years after it confounded audiences and inspired debate, Memento will receive a 10th Anniversary Edition Blu-ray on February 22, 2011 from Lionsgate Home Entertainment. Originally released on Blu-ray by Sony in 2006, the distribution rights for Memento were secured by Lionsgate earlier this year following their acquisition of Newmarket Films. Since Sony’s Memento Blu-ray only utilized a 25GB disc and an inferior MPEG-2 codec, the all-new high definition transfer (approved by Christopher Nolan) for this Lionsgate release is quite exciting. Special features on the disc remain nearly identical to the previous Blu-ray release and include an audio commentary with Christopher Nolan, director’s script, the original short story Memento, and “Anatomy of a Scene.” The new addition will be a featurette with Christopher Nolan discussing the legacy of the film.

Memento’s 10th Anniversary Edition Blu-ray is now available for pre-order on Amazon for only $13.99.

Already have it on Blu-Ray but if the xfer is better then I might consider this.

Is this multi regional like the Sony one or will it only work on American Blu-Ray players?

Lionsgate’s press release didn’t mention it being a new commentary, so I am assuming it’ll be the same as the special edition DVD/Sony Blu-ray.

Studios sure are backtracking on Chris Nolan’s film resume, considering the critical and mammoth commercial success he’s had this past five years.
