I first viewed it in Imax, mumbai in India.
Alas, couldn’t experience TDK in it. Btw, the audience here went crazy over the hallway fight and the ending. Going for my fourth viewing next week. I think more than our faith in Nolan, his faith in the audience’s intelligence has paid off.

IMAX is wayyyyyy better. This movie would still be flippin’ sweet if you watched it on a cell phone though. In other words, when you’re watching the best movie ever made (INCEPTION), it doesn’t matter where you watch it, it’s still gonna’ be the best movie ever made! But IMAX does make it a wee bit better.

@Mike: I think an IMAX visit is recommended. I travelled 10 hours to another city (with an IMAX screen) and saw it twice there, that city being Hyderabad in India. I saw it first in a multiplex here and I do think that the IMAX viewing is more enjoyable and thrilling! Hope this helps!!!

@mike TDK was more worth seeing in IMAX because it has scenes /filmed/ in IMAX. Inception doesn’t.

what i was wondering is if it it worth travelling an hour to see inception in imax??? my understanding is that TDK was great in imax and i want to know if inception is too

mike: I was specifically referring to somebody’s assertion that “Nolan makes only blockbusters.” Let’s not kid ourselves that every movie of his has done Dark Knight business. They’ve all made money, which is why he’s gotten to make better and better movies each time, but they haven’t all been ginormous hits by a long shot.

I own all of Nolan’s feature films on DVD or Blu-Ray, saw Memento, Batman Begins, and The Prestige three times in theatres, The Dark Knight eight times in theatres, and have seen Inception four times in theatres, so hopefully it’s clear I’m not making any comments about Nolan’s quality of work.

@mike…TDK and Inception are incomparable. You’ll enjoy the film because it was created by Nolan and the music’s score was composed by Hans Zimmer.

Anyone who enjoyed TDK should see Inception twice. Support Nolan.

I saw Inception last Sunday and LOVED it. I want to watch it again. How long do you guys think it’ll stay in US theaters? I was thinking about seeing it August 14 or 15 (that’s when I will have some free time)..

i dont know richard i think you are missing the larger point. why should it matter how much it makes to nolanfans? you are either somebody who likes iron man 2 or not. what i mean is why should we care the truth is that most ppl are not smart and this is why they like transformers and shrek.

So, they haven’t quite all been blockbusters. The Dark Knight grossed more than all of his other movies combined, including Inception (so far).

What they did all manage to do, most importantly, was make money.

I’d love to see Inception make it to around $300 million in North America and prove that there’s an audience out there for visionary original storytelling even when it isn’t the built-in audience of a pre-existing property.

its already at 229m worldwide.. i asume its gonna pass 300m soon its still to be released in some countries…friday here in south africa and even in most european counties towards end August early September..
