Casting Grid Reveals Riddler Listed as Batman 3 Villian

FirstShowing.net is reporting they have a “reliable inside source” with a studio casting grid that has The Riddler listed as the villian for Batman 3. With this year’s San Diego Comic Con starting up this week, many have been suspecting some sort of announcement regarding the much anticipated follow-up to 2008′s The Dark Knight. Rumors surrounding this project have been absolutely bonkers in the past, but FirstShowing is saying “this news should be considered confirmation that The Riddler is the villain” in Batman 3. They’re also saying that the actor currently listed on that same casting grid is none other than Inception‘s Joseph Gordon-Levitt. He is listed as “interested” next to The Riddler, despite the age listed for the mysterious villian being 35-45. Joe is only 29 by the way. So how accurate could this all be? They want to keep the JGL part listed a rumor, but The Riddler part as confirmed.

A fantastic pick for the Riddler (in my opinion) would be to cast Ralph Fiennes… hes perfect when it comes to portraying villians (Schindlers List ex.).

Wow! This is some seriously exciting news! I LOVE the Riddler. I also love Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and I’d love it if he were the Riddler! I really hope they cast him…or Johnny Depp, despite what many people are saying.

JGL has shown he can do action with Inception and drama with Lookout, he may be too young though

I REALLY want it to be the Riddler. Nolan is a perfect writer to do The Riddler justice in live action and not since BTAS. I love JGL too. He’s becoming a fine young actor and is setting himself up quite nicely to be one of the best of his generation, but I think David Tennant would be fantastic. Seeing in how Nolan is used to casting European actors, I would hope Tennant would get a shot.

Building plot with riddler as the main villain would be repetitious. As far as we know Chris Nolan is an ambitious director, he won’t go with something like that.

Please no… Get a new villain and i don’t even think JGL is that great an actor and definitely not the riddler. Please have it be Black Mask with Tom Hardy, or someone different, but I’d be really disappointed if the villain is Riddler.

You guys are forgetting that Riddler won’t be the only villain. Black Mask and the other villains still have a chance of getting in the movie.

Jeez, Scarecrow wasn’t the only villain in Batman Begins and Joker wasn’t the only villain in The Dark Knight.

The Riddler might not even be the main villain, he’s just more popular on the internet so he’s getting the headlines.

david tennant is the best choice for this role hands down. i love joseph but david is a better fit for the riddler’s witty personality. if anyone saw his acting on doctor they know what i’m talking about

Michael C. Hall and no one else. He was born for the role of the Riddler. If he doesn’t sign on for more Dexter, he should be cast as the Riddler.

I have a feeling this is all BS, but I could be wrong. If I am wrong, I don’t think JGL would make a good villain. He was fantastic in Inception and is a great actor all around. However, he’s too young and too likable to play a proper villain. With a character like a the Riddler, you can’t cake a bunch of makeup on his face and allow him to disappear into the character like what Heath did so brilliantly. Nolan will have to find an actor who’s face embodies the villainy of the character. He took the Joker and made him darker than had ever been seen before. If he plans to do the same with the Riddler, then JGL would not be the right choice.

-batman has disappeared and the mob has set out to find out who he is.

-they hire the riddler to get to him.

-riddler goes after the business partner at wayne enterprises (the guy who went on the air to expose bruse wayne at the end of the dark knight.

-chris nolan works his magic from there.

1. JGL is awesome. you people who doubt are the same people who said “Ahhh, for real? They cast that pretty boy Heath Ledger as Joker? This movie is gonna blow…” Well look at you go!

2. Riddler was written into the Nolanverse in TDK. Watch the promos for TDK, The GCN fake Newscasts… at the bottom of the screen crawler… It says “Edward Nashton writes letter to editor, ‘Dent Cannot Be Trusted’.

3. Zsasz as we all know from BB is written in. We’ve seen him. He’s still at large. So he could be here as well.

4. The alias Edward Nashton comes from an old story arc where Nashton is a detective on Gordons force. He thinks Batman is crock and that the law should enforce the law, not vigilantes. Anyway, that will most likely be his character. And the plot will probably center around him in this way. anyway around it, riddler is the next big villain. AS WELL HE SHOULD BE! We need to see Bat’s metal skills tested. Remember kids… our batman now is not fully matured, this only year three in the chronology.

5. Black Mask will most likely be the second villain, also I’m guessing so will Rupert Thorne. Both BM and RT took over Gotham’s mobs after The Falcone crime family fell. BATMAN 3 WILL STILL BE A GANGSTER MOVIE, AS WERE THE LAST TWO!!

Nolan can do no wrong. and this trilogy is his baby. This movie will be a fantastic, if no perfect addition to the Batman mythos. It will be an amazing follow up to TDK, and an amazing movie all by itself, as were the last two.

I think Catwoman should make an appearence, think about it. Nolan’s universe needs a girl villain to spice things up and make it different and interesting. And with Rachel gone . . . well . . . i’m just saying.

NO RIDDLER PLZ here why he dont fit in the story of other movies at all and he cant carry a movie.Cant just go with Riddler cause they scared to recast the joker or whatever case mybe.not a good follow up if u ask me. were Riddler fit in at all in the dirtion of any of the films?? Iam not saying no batman3 just no riddler dosnt play in at all.
