Batman 3 Rumors to End January 2010

bat nolan Batman 3 Rumors to End January 2010Rumor has it that the Batman 3 rumors will finally come to an end early next year. (Disregard the irony.) At least, that’s the word from a “solid” and “longtime” source of Batman-On-Film. Here are the details.

There’s some scuttlebutt that in early 2010, Warner Bros. and Chris Nolan will finalize the plan for BATMAN 3, according to a solid and longtime BOF source. Whether there will be an announcement or not remains to be seen.

Our guy told BOF that in his opinion, the longer we don’t here a Nolan/B3 announcement in 2010, the less likely it is that the director will return. (I don’t know if I necessarily agree with that since I’m of the belief that Chris has already signed on.)

We also have to consider that Christopher Nolan’s Inception is wrapping production in about two weeks. Is Warner Bros. going to announce a third Batman film before, during, or after the (hopefully awesome) marketing campaign for Inception?

Regardless, our source also confirmed the obvious — there’s going to be a BATMAN 3 with or without Nolan. And although they’re operating under the assumption that he will return, they do have their ducks in a row — just in case.

Remember this is only a rumor. Let’s just keep our fingers crossed and hope that this torture will end soon.

Didn’t Batman-on-film’s ’sources’ say back in Feb that Nolan was signed on (as part of the Inception deal).

Wow. NO !@#$%^&* WAY! If this is true, then we’ll know if Nolan’s going to return for the next Batman film and I REALLY hope he does.

If there’s another Batman film and Nolan isn’t directing it, I will probably go on a killing spree. It has to be Nolan…simply has to. I will completely respect his decision should he choose not to direct it, but I will not go see Batman 3 because it will just ruin what Nolan has built up. I’m sorry, but Nolan is one of the most talented directors working today, and for someone to try and take on Batman just a few years after The Dark Knight is not a good idea (obviously it’s a good financial idea for WB…but that’s about it).

    –> Jake

If Nolan doesn’t want to direct Batman 3, WB will make it anyway. They need the money, and it doesn’t matter who is directing (financial speaking), cause it will earn so much money because of the success of The Dark Knight. Everyone will watch the film even tough Nolan isn’t directing.

Tough I certanly hope he will direct it.

I want Chris Nolan badly on this one if he doesn’t come and opts for other movie then it will be disappointing because he did a superb job with Batman series .If Warner Bros choose to make they should consider with Nolan only other wise just shut it down and don’t make a mess of it I love Chris Nolan’s work and I see nobody who can fill his shoes for Batman Series.

I totaly agree with Joe. Nobody can make movies, in this case another Batman, like Christopher Nolan.

I wouldn’t put too much faith in anything “Batman-On-Film” says. Yes Jett has announced stuff that turned out to be true, but most of that stuff had been around online before. I am not hatin on Jett, I think his site is great to anticipate/hype Batman films, but most of the time when he announces big stuff, it is usually to get hits to his site. Come January, if we hear nothing, guaranteed he will say announcement will come in March. Then in March, he will say July. Etc.

I stopped reading when I got to “Batman-On-Film.” Jett doesn’t know any more about what’s going down than any of the rest of us.

The series was so well directed, I can’t imagine anyone doing a better job, and honestly, I can’t see anyone topping The Dark Knight in the batman series.

you know what, afterwatching 12 Monkeys after 10yrs again, i’d say Brad Pitt should be casted for the next Batman ;)

It’s going to be Bale, he’s signed for 3 films.

i meant brad pitt should be in the next batman film as a villain, like the riddler…..

And Nolan might have worked with him initially on Memento.

Hmmm, too big of a name, not happening.

    on November 25, 2009 at 1:33 pm

Yes will is right! Like Heath LEdger that C. Nolan wanted to work with him before but didn’t get the chance!
Now Brad Pitt can do it! I bet it’ll be INSANE!

Hrmm. I’m not to sure about this. I think Eternalist is right. Brad Pitt is too big of a name to be in Batman 3. He would take away from the role. I believe we discussed this a podcast episode. :P

  18. Inception
    on November 25, 2009 at 5:51 pm

Johnny Depp is a big of a name too, if they really wanna a movie to beat or be as good as Th Dark Knight and an actor that would bring a performance as astounding as Heath Ledger did, they’d need Brad Pitt or Depp for the next one.

Or Daniel Day-Lewis! (inner fan talking)

Daniel Day-Lewis is another good choice, he did audition for Batman Begins…

No he didn’t. He was offered the role, but he turned it down. According to iMDB…

Guy Pearce as the villain would work best.

It would just be nice to hear some real news instead of constant speculation. Personally, I think the Joker should be recast, perhaps by Depp, in addition to a new villan.

Yes, I know I spelled villain wrong.
