Someone on iMDB who was there said that the licence plates were changed to “New York”.

Also, there’s a ton of photos over at Just Jared and Accidental Sexiness.

Just noticed how packed that LA shoot was:
DiCaprio, Watanabe, Hardy, Gordon-Levitt, Page, and Rao were all present.

It looks like water IS going to be a prominent motif in the film.

Water is often a symbol of birth/renewal which fits since “inception” means “beginning”.

I thinking it’s raining just because it’s a common and regular weather condition.

I doubt it’s any sort of motif that we aren’t meant to look out for.

i meant to say ‘are’ instead of ‘aren’t’

Water is seen throughout the teaser. Leo staring out a rainstreaked window, a water stained surface with a spinning top and (presumably) Leo emerging from under water. The fact that they went out of their way to simulate rain gives credence to that theory.

I think you’re looking too much in to it.

They wanted a scene where it was a raining so they used fake rain. It’s pretty common in filmmaking.

Or, maybe you’re just not looking into it enough?

No, it’s definitely just you looking too much into the use of rain.

No, maybe you’re just not looking into the use of rain enough?

    (Let’s just end this here)

stop bickering like little children. No one knows anything at this point so both your views are nothing but utter speculation and nothing else. However, this may just be some use of fake rain for a dramatic element (or just for this scene), but the over abundance of water within the trailer and in this scene Eternalist may be on to something. Nolan is a very cerebal filmmaker and it wouldn’t be out of the norm for him to add such a thematic feature to his films. But then again, maybe not. We’ll find out next summer.
