Images from Inception Filming in Paris, Explosive Updates

As we had previously announced, Inception is filming in Paris today around the Pont de Bir-Hakeim. We have obtained six photos of the shoot. Leo DiCaprio, Ellen Page, and Marion Cotillard are pictured here, as well as, Christopher Nolan, Wally Pfister, and a few other crew members. Whatever they were filming earlier today, it looked as if there were a several extras involved too.

Update: Excitement was turned up a notch in Paris today as Chris Nolan and his crew filmed an scene involving explosions and flying debris. Ellen Page and Leo DiCaprio were on set for the scene.

    George posted on the forums that they were going to film at Rue Bouchut. He said that they set up a bunch of fake shops and restaurants. I’m not very familiar with that area, me living in Florida and all, but I don’t think any of the pictures we saw today were at Rue Bouchut, everything seemed like it was either on or near the bridge. They could be filming there tomorrow.

    I took 3 years of French during high school and I can barely make my way through a few of those sentences. Someone should dump that text into a translator. :)
    Wait. Hyacinthe, you took that picture, right? Can you tell us what it says?

    Yes of course, i forgot to translate !!!
    the first one is a notice of shooting for people living in the neighborhood… It says they’ll be shooting in those streets on Tuesday and Wednesday between 8AM and 8PM. It’s also written that one of the scene will imply explosions and loud noises (I can tell it was a bit loud !)

    But the most important part is this line : “The scene we’ll be shooting, takes place on a dream when a supernatural breeze blows the props.”

    Personally, I was a bit surprised by the production being so descriptive : ‘a dream’ ‘a supernatural breeze’…

    The second one is a reminder of the procedure they were using (two horn sounds) to announce the imminence of the explosion.

    So. I’ll be there again tomorow morning ! Hoping there will be more explosions :D

    Was on the set, or close, at lunch time.
    We saw Chris Nolan filming a scene with Di Caprio and Ellen Page walking in the street closed to yesterday’s set.
    Leonardo signed a couple of autographs before lunch break.
    It was really cool to see all of them working there.

    Christopher Nolan, director of The Dark Knight, was in Paris a few days ago very nice company. He turned in effect with Leonardo di Caprio, Marion Cottillard and the lovely Ellen Page Inception a scene of his next film oriented science fiction. For Parisians and connoisseurs, the scene was shot on the bridge of Bir Hakeim. A photo gallery is visible by clicking here.
    Inception fate on 4 August 2010.

    Updated: If you are in Paris, the shooting is still scheduled for today 19/08. It will take place near the metro Sèvres Lecourbe as stated the communiqué. A big thank you to Hyacinthe who took some photos available here.

    Account of the shooting of Christopher Nolan Inception in Paris on 19 August 2009

    Under a blazing sun that Chris Nolan turns Inception in Paris. So I went near the subway Segur in the 15th arrondissement, near the headquarters of Unesco.
    First trucks everywhere, really everywhere. Dozens of trucks, equipment, with clothes hangers, a crane, gas cylinders (for the scene shot yesterday?). Le quartier de la rue Bouchut was literally drowned in the filming equipment.
    First, a first remote barrier blocking the road César Franck (plan to better understand the topology). Photographers (paparazzi?) Armed with huge telephoto lenses trying to take pictures of Leonardo di Caprio faces a French security leaves nicely done. It still does not much …
    I decided to go round by the street Haüy to see what happens at the corner of César Franck and rue Bouchut. That was yesterday you could see Di Caprio attablé with Ellen Page on the terrace of a café. During this scene, a car exploded and debris are shown. According to the signs warning residents, it is a scene taking place in the dream of one of the protagonists.
    Today, no explosion, but a much more sober scene. I could just see Leo di Caprio and Ellen Page filmed walking in the street a few meters, Christopher Nolan watching from afar. The scene is shot twice. First the characters who walk on foot or by bicycle and then the two players. And it is turned several times, including through the cars of the sun.
    Clap end. Announcement of the lunch break. Di Caprio sign some autographs for the children and goes away. The Badeaux who took photos from afar, watched by molosse the safety and shooting, are gone. End of story.

    All the photos of the first two days and probably today, too, are centralized on NolanFans.

    Thanks for translating it.
    I’ve updated my article with a few pictures taken earlier this afternoon thanks to a friend. No cast. The crew was only filming extras.
    But the last pic is a sheet of cast/crew/locations and stuff. Interesting.

    It’s weird, ‘cos if you look carefully at the explosions photos or video, you’ll noticed that anyone but Leo DiCaprio seems to be affected by the explosions…

    @apw I spent only 1h on the set on Wednesday (instead of almost 8h on Tuesaday O_o), so didn’t have time to take pictures. Just saw two explosion scenes, but I just got there when the 1st one begin shooting, and my digital camera was out of my pocket only after this scene was shot… Too bad !
