Hey guys, over the past several weeks, the server that originally hosted the website since its launch has been struggling to keep up with the website’s ever increasing traffic. We’ve been struggling to find a solution for this problem, but we knew all along, that we had to buy a new server…so we did. We moved NolanFans.com over to the new server just after midnight last night, and I’ve got to tell you – this thing is FAST! We can guarantee that this new server will have nearly zero outages (versus the one old crashing twice a week) and that you’ll be able to navigate through our website faster than ever before. Do you notice any speed improvements? Comment below!

I can't see any difference. I am using a text only browser though.

@Ralph Yea, I wouldn't expect anyone using a text browser to see any difference at all really. I mean, how long does text usually take to download? Approaching 0 seconds I would imagine.

Better. I used to have trouble loading the website when I needed it.

@dagn96 That was the main problem we were having with the old server. Once big news breaks, this website gets flooded with traffic and our little server can't handle it. That shouldn't happen again, ever. This new server will be able to handle anything we can force on it for a long while.

AlexHaas, What hosting company did you switch to? You guys have really done a great job with the website here. I was glad to find that this website is valid XHTML 1.0 Transitional. Also, congratulations on your server upgrade!

@Ralph, Thanks for the compliment! I\'m glad you\'re enjoying our work. We used to have this website hosted with 1&1, but it turns out that their shared servers couldn\'t handle more than a few hundred hits per day. We found it cheaper to buy our own servers from a long-time friend, instead of upgrading to 1&1\'s dedicated servers.

Very cool. Glad to see that this site is being taken seriously…it's nice to know that there is a great website dedicated to my favorite director

hey dudes, why don't you guys add a cbox to the site so we can chat with Nolan-fans like us around the globe anytime we want :]
on May 29, 2009 at 1:51 am
we have an experimental chat at: nolanfans.com/chatroom.php but since it's not linked on the site's navigation yet, people aren't always there.
