Variety announced tonight that Leonardo DiCaprio has been signed on to star in Christopher Nolan‘s next film, Inception. This will be the first time that Leonardo, who carefully chooses his roles and who he works with, will be collaborating with Nolan. The script, which has been kept under wraps, is said to be ‘a contemporary sci-fi actioner set within the architecture of the mind.’Â Inception is planned for a July 16, 2010 release date.

I couldn't be more excited. I can't remember the last time that Leo had a movie that came out in the summer. I know that this collaboration will be golden. Can't wait!

As Steve Weintraub said on Collider, it will be nice to see DiCaprio on a summer blockbuster. The words "sci-fi actioner" and "july" mean a lot these days. Although we know nothing about it at this point, I think we're in for a real treat.

I'd watch anything Nolan does. And I'd watch anything Leo is in. Thiago is right, we are in for a real treat.

One of the best collaborations i can think of…it's really nice to see DiCaprio do something like this. And with Nolan writing and directing the movie is sure to be quite awesome
