Early this morning the nominees for the 81st annual Academy Awards were announced, and although The Dark Knight received nominations in 8 categories, it was absent in nearly all of the major ones. The majority of the film’s nominations were in technical categories including: Best Achievement in Cinematography, Best Achievement in Editing, Best Achi-evement in Art Direction, Best Achievement in Makeup, Best Achievement in Sound, Best Achievement in Sound Editing, and Best Achievement in Visual Effects. Save one major category, Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role, in which Heath Ledger was nominated for his role as The Joker.
We would like to know how you feel about the nominations. Happy? Annoyed? Comment below!

I'm really happy that Heath Ledger and Wally Pfister was nominated, but it's a shame that Chris Nolan didn't get a nomination neither for the direction nor for the screenplay. I'm a bit sad because of this, but 8 Oscar nomination is still a great thing.

I\'m with you on that one – very happy for Heath Ledger. I\'m also hoping he\'ll be able to win that Oscar as well. 8 Oscar nominations is still a very good thing for one film. Although, Chris Nolan\'s directing should have been recognized.

I agree with both of you.
